G + geom_bar(stat="identity", position=position_dodge()) Geom_text(aes(label=len), vjust=-0.3, size=3.5)+į + geom_bar(aes(fill = dose), stat="identity")īar plot with multiple groups: g <- ggplot(data=df2, aes(x=dose, y=len, fill=supp)) We start by creating a simple bar plot (named f) using the df data set: f <- ggplot(df, aes(x = dose, y = len)) # Basic bar plotį + geom_bar(stat="identity", fill="steelblue")+ Ggplot(wdata, aes(x = weight)) + stat_density()įor each plot type, we’ll provide the geom_*() function and the corresponding stat_*() function (if available).ĭata derived from ToothGrowth data sets are used. Ggplot(wdata, aes(x = weight)) + geom_density() In the following example, the function geom_density() does the same as the function stat_density(): # Use geometry function In this case, an alternative way to build a layer is to use stat_*() functions. Note that, some plots visualize a transformation of the original data set. The function aes_string() can be used as follow: ggplot(mtcars, aes_string(x = "wt", y = "mpg")) + Ggplot(data = mtcars, aes(x = wt, y = mpg)) + aes_string() is particularly useful when writing functions that create plots because you can use strings to define the aesthetic mappings, rather than having to use substitute to generate a call to aes() # Basic scatter plot An alternative option is the function aes_string() which generates mappings from a string. The function aes() is used to specify aesthetics. To demonstrate how the function ggplot() works, we’ll draw a scatter plot. Geometry: the type of plots ( histogram, boxplot, line, density, dotplot, bar, …).Aesthetics: used to specify x and y variables, color, size, shape, ….Recall that, the concept of ggplot divides a plot into three different fundamental parts: plot = data + Aesthetics + geometry. This section describes briefly how to use the function ggplot().

Stay awake pills cvs9/17/2023 If you have signs and symptoms of ME/CFS, you're likely to start by seeing your family's health care professional. Experiment and use your own judgment to determine what's best for you. Support groups aren't for everyone, and you may find that a support group adds to your stress rather than relieves it. You may find it helpful to join a support group and meet other people with your condition. It also can be helpful if you are dealing with symptoms of depression. Talking with a counselor can help build coping skills to deal with chronic illness, address limitations at work or school, and improve family dynamics. Emotional support and counseling may help you and your loved ones deal with the uncertainties and restrictions of this disorder. The experience of ME/CFS varies from person to person. Treatments that are expensive or potentially harmful should be avoided. Patients with this condition may be sensitive to medications, including herbal products and supplements. Many alternative therapies have been promoted for myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), but very few have evidence that they work. Sleep apnea can be treated by using a machine that delivers air pressure through a mask while you sleep. Your health care team might suggest avoiding caffeine or changing your bedtime routine. Lack of sleep can make other symptoms more difficult to deal with. It may help to keep a daily diary of your activities and symptoms, so you can track how much activity is too much for you. As you improve, you may be able to safely engage in more activity without triggering post-exertional malaise. The goal of pacing is to reduce post-exertional malaise, rather than getting back to the same activity level you had when you were healthy. The goal is to remain active without overdoing it. People who have post-exertional malaise often struggle to find a good balance between activity and rest. It usually begins within 12 to 24 hours after the activity, and it can last for days or weeks. People with ME/CFS have a worsening of their symptoms after physical, mental or emotional effort. Low doses of some antidepressants also can help improve sleep and relieve pain. Treating your depression can make it easier for you to cope with the problems associated with having a chronic disease. Many people with long-term health problems, such as ME/CFS, are also depressed. Medications to regulate blood pressure or heart rhythms may be helpful. Some people with this condition, particularly adolescents, feel faint or nauseated when they stand or sit upright. These include pregabalin (Lyrica), duloxetine (Cymbalta), amitriptyline or gabapentin (Neurontin). If medicines such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB, others) and naproxen sodium (Aleve) don't help enough, prescription drugs sometimes used to treat fibromyalgia might be options for you. Some problems associated with ME/CFS can be improved with certain medicines. The most disruptive or disabling symptoms should be addressed first. There is no cure for myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). These symptoms must last for at least six months and occur at least half the time at moderate, substantial or severe intensity. Dizziness that worsens with moving from lying down or sitting to standing.Difficulties with memory, focus and concentration. To meet the Institute of Medicine's diagnostic criteria for this condition, a person would also need to experience at least one of these two symptoms: Worsened by physical, mental or emotional exertion. So severe that it interferes with the ability to engage in pre-illness activities.Guidelines proposed by the United States Institute of Medicine define the fatigue associated with ME/CFS as being: In fact, there are so many overlapping symptoms between this condition and fibromyalgia that some researchers consider the two disorders to be different aspects of the same disease. It's also common for people who have ME/CFS to also have other health problems at the same time, such as sleep disorders, irritable bowel syndrome or fibromyalgia.

Escape work burger shop game addiction9/17/2023 Of course, Krasner isn’t the only candidate with progressive policy proposals, even if he is the only one touting them as such. In the past, he has battled with Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5 President John McNesby - a longtime defender of crooked police officers and a critic of Black Lives Matter protesters. Krasner was one of two candidates to criticize the powerful police union’s recent endorsement of DA candidate Rich Negrin. Each Democratic candidate has at least a few policies that could be considered reform - even if it’s a commitment to not accept gifts, which caused the latest scandal in current DA Seth Williams’ tenure.Īt Martha, Krasner noted that all the candidates “want to call themselves progressives” now, so much that the label often serves as a sound bite rather than a policy position. His platform includes promises to stop the death penalty, work to end mass incarceration and protect First Amendment rights, to name a few.īut as Philadelphia Magazine recently noted, the packed primary race has taken an unexpected shift to the left. There are some other good things that have been added to CSD2 but overall the first is still way better to me.Krasner touts his credentials as a public defender and civil rights attorney who has taken on police unions and defended Black Lives Matter (and Occupy Philly) activists in court. Both players are able to do everything themselves instead of being forced to work together so it really just boils down to an easier take on solo mode. The co-op is also a LOT easier this time around. IMO the other restaurants could have been a good component to the game but they shoulda been secondary as a way to unlock new stuff for your place rather than the main thrust of the game. After a bit you get the hang of it but it also gets boring pretty quick since you just finish a place and move on to the next. These are stressful as fuck since there are SO MANY FOODS in the game so you're never really prepared for any of it. The main thing you're doing is events for other restaurants where the menu is predetermined like a pizza place, ice cream shop, burger joint, sushi place, etc. You still have your restaurant, but unlike in the original you aren't really upgrading your kitchen equipment, but rather cosmetics for the dinning room (I think some of it helps with customer wait times, I forget). Of course plenty of other skills need reworks to, take firemaking for example, which basically only serves as an arbitrary skill check for quests. You can even smith a DFS before you can smith a rune square shield because even as a near best in slot shield item they realized that placing it that high on the smithing skill would make it not feel good for players. Even that high tier gear Jagex realized maybe it would be better to put it near the levels you actually will use it. You unlock the ability to unlock and imbue all of your crystal amor before the ability to make adamant platebodies. outside of a few niche things you will basically always be literally dozens of levels behind what's useful of you level smithing at the same rate as your other skills.Īnd those few niche items also show that jagex realizes that the smithing levels are completely fucked. By the time you are in your early to mid 70s, it's all over. By the time you are level 50-60 in your combat stats, you will likely already have or be looking for upgrades to your rune gear. Ffs, it's almost 20 levels before you can smith anything other than bronze, and bronze items are outclassed by iron literally from the start of the game. The issue isn't that you can buy and use the products of the smithing at an early level, the issue is that the items are useless for anything other than high Alching by the time you can actually make them. Maybe you could say that the ability to make rune items comes a bit late there too, but it's not like getting to level 69 and being able to make an RCB isn't useful, and even if it was a bit of a feel bad there are 30 more levels of higher level gear that you then get to unlock, weapons and ammo many of which are just flat out best in slot. The difference between runecrafting and smithing is that the runes you can make as you progress through the skill actually line up with the runes you will be using as you progress through the rest of the game if you do both at the same time. Preparing a will checklist9/17/2023 The appointed administrator is often not the same person who you would choose as your executor and may not always act in accordance with your wishes. Without a will, there is no executor, so a judge will appoint an administrator to preside over your estate. This is called being intestate, and different states have different intestacy laws. Adults who die without a will subject their property to disbursements made by a probate court in accordance with state law. While creating a will makes some people uncomfortable, procrastinating can be costly. In some states the executor is called a personal representative. The person you name in the will to manage your estate is called the executor. A will is a legal document that allows you (the testator) to assign someone to manage your estate after you die, declare who will become the guardian for your children and/or who will receive specific items or property from your estate. Let’s start with the basic definition of a will. However, probate laws governing wills vary from state to state, so it’s important to contact a local estate planning attorney to assist you with your specific situation. In this article, we cover nine basic considerations that are crucial to preparing a will. 1 Making a will isn’t a pleasant task to consider, but neglecting to put your wishes in writing can cause headaches for your family down the road.Įspecially today, with financial lives getting more and more complex, you need a well-executed will and other estate planning documents more than ever before. However, two out of five Americans over age of 45 don’t have one. When it comes to estate planning, a will is crucial.

Golden spike sesquicentennial9/17/2023 A couple years ago, Kwan, a judge in Utah, received an anonymous note telling him he should “get sent back to China.” That kind of erasure is all too common and has contributed to the stereotype that Asian Americans are perpetual foreigners, say activists and academics. Michael Kwan’s great-great-grandfather labored on the railroad, but his story, and even his name, have been lost to history. We are expanding the lens to see the workers who built the railroads, not just the industrialists,” said Max Chang, a board member of Spike 150, the volunteer committee that partnered with the park to organize the celebration there and is also coordinating commemorative events elsewhere in Utah. “I always say a picture may be worth a thousand words, but it doesn’t tell the whole story. With heightened public attention during the sesquicentennial, organizers and park officials have been working to correct the record with exhibits, performances and other activities - both at the historic site, where a three-day-long anniversary event took place in May, and around the state. Thanks to decades of efforts by community leaders, activists and workers’ descendants, the stories of thousands of Chinese immigrants who helped build the railroad are beginning to come to the fore. On the 150th anniversary of the completion of the rail line, it’s no longer necessary to stage guerrilla actions to highlight the contributions of Chinese laborers. camera icon ALFRED A HART/STANFORD UNIVERSITY “In actuality, we’re reclaiming American history, and the Chinese contribution is part and parcel of that.”īuilt between 18, the Transcontinental Railroad extended the existing eastern railway network, from outside Omaha, Nebraska, to Oakland, California. “Some people would say, we’re reclaiming Chinese American history,” Lee said. He characterizes these works as acts of “photographic justice.” Lee - the self-described “undisputed unofficial Asian American photographer laureate” - has taken pictures of Chinese workers’ descendants and other Asian American supporters in front of the locomotives and a natural formation now known as the Chinese Arch because of its location near a former Chinese work camp. In 2002, and then every year since 2014, Lee and Leland Wong, the great-grandson of a railroad laborer, have hosted a flash mob of sorts to re-create the tableau at Golden Spike National Historical Park, which preserves a stretch of the railroad and the spot where the last spike was installed. That omission has long bothered journalist Corky Lee, 71, who first saw the famed photograph when he was in junior high. But the photo tells an incomplete story: None of the 20,000 or so Chinese immigrants who had risked their lives to blast granite and break through the Sierra Nevada by hand seem to be included. Engineers shake hands and pop champagne, surrounded by a cheering crowd of railroad workers. They dug 15 tunnels through pure hard granite,” Chao said.In the celebratory photograph taken after the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad on May 10, 1869, two mighty locomotives from East and West meet at Promontory Summit, Utah. “These workers of Chinese ancestry blasted and chiseled their way through the rugged Sierra Nevada mountains, using manual hammer drills, pick axes and explosives. When California’s gold fields lured men away from railroad work, Central Pacific started hiring Chinese workers. Anything west of the Mississippi River required travel by wagon, a trip that could take anywhere from three to six months.Īfter the railroad was built, it took about seven days and as little as $65 to ride from New York to San Francisco. The anniversary was an occasion to commemorate “the contribution and sacrifices of the railroad workers,” including the estimated 12,000-15,000 Chinese laborers “who risked everything to make the Transcontinental Railroad a reality,” Chao said.īefore the transatlantic railroad, train travel was available from points east to as far as St. Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao champions railroad workers at the 150th anniversary of the Golden Spike Ceremony on May 10. |
